Network Assessment & Health Check

Network performance and security directly impact business productivity and ultimately bottom line. The assessment is a light touch, ‘snapshot’ of the running network. It starts with a short discovery exercise to understand the business intent and priorities. Interviews with key members of the in-house tech team to understand working practices and any ongoing issues.

JAG will review the existing documentation and the Design Intent before performing the following;

  • Assess how the design has been translated to the ground
  • Assess the existing network resilience and ensure deterministic failover
  • Assess the Layer 3 topology and IP Routing design
  • Assess the Layer 2 topology and segregation
  • Assess the firewall policy for security and performance
  • Assess the age and vendor support status including patching levels and known vendor issues.

    • The documented output of any assessment will be driven by the customer but usually includes:

    Summary report for board level consumption

    Firewall policy assessment report (including vulnerability report)

    Network device configuration and security report (including vulnerability report)

    JAG can create (retro) documentation sets as required, these may include:

  • High-Level Designs
  • Low-Level Designs
  • Topology diagrams
  • Wiring Schematics

    Other documentation sets (if required) include Reference Architectures which can be used as a base line design to adhere to when deploying branch office / Campus LAN etc.
